I've been to Carlsbad SB and one of those wonderful sites right on the cliff overlooking the Pacific. Pelicans and sea gulls fly close along the cliffs. It is pretty crowded and kind of pricey, but a great place to sit out and watch the sunset.

 

I think if the water came up that high, we would have heard about it on the news. Fun times with After Effects perhaps.
