In spite of no snow the wildflowers were in abundance.

Taylor Lake on Friday. Not a soul around.

Weather was hot until Friday and Saturday some thunderstorms rolled in and treated us to a lightning show and downpour. Cooled things off nicely. I tried but failed to get a pic of some lightning.

Saturday up at Thompson Peak we ran into a Forest Service employee with binoculars looking for smokes. Can't use the lookout as its closed. He mentioned something about asbestos. On the way back we ran into another FS employee who informed us about a missing person. Sixty seven year old lady with advanced alzheimers. Spent a few hours assisting with the search before I ran into the Sheriff who said they found her up on the Fruit Growers Blvd. Fishing was slow otherwise it was another fun trip.

Nice to see all the wild flowers even in the low snow/water year.

We ran into lots of wild flowers on our May trip to Yellowstone.A great treat, didn't expect to see many but as the trip went on more and more came out.

Thanks for the photos.

I believe the wildflowers responded to the late spring rain we got. We watched the build over the crest last weekend but it did not quite reach where we were at. Thanks for the report Mr. Mumbles. :)
