If you have some time, watch this video by Robert O'Toole.   The Nature Photographers of the Pacific Northwest (NPPNW) invited Robert to present to us a year or two ago.   I think his information and presentation style is better than many of the big names.   We've had folks like Art Wolfe, George Lepp, Rod Planck, and Frans Lanting, but I have learned more from Robert than any of the others.

Edit:   Here's another presentation from Robert.

Thanks for sharing the lesson. It is always good to saturate yourself in quality information as we sometimes forget some of the details that make images have greater impact.

Great information.  Thanks for posting the video link.

Rule of thirds really helps get better shots but hadn't thought about the rule of quads.

And I have a lot of experimentation to do with blurs.  And all this time I hated getting a blurry shot other than moving water. Really like some of his.

I used to get down low to take photos a lot of the time but father time and the wet PNW has made that less pleasant for me. I can get down there but getting back up hurts more places each year,

Never imagined that I would be thinking about spending as much for a tripod and ball head as for a camera.

Most of it was a bit advanced for me but I'll keep in mind the advice about getting at eye level.

I added one more presentation from Robert to the first post.  Wildlife in Japan.
