My 2500HD came with the dual alternator option and trailer package.  I am awaiting my Hawk delivery so I  am obsessing about details.  Am I correct that the dual alternator option basically adds additional current to the trucks general electrical draw?  In other words, the additional alternator is not isolated to just charge a truck camper battery?  I couldn't find out any information on the Chevy site.

Thank you.

What does the owner's manual have to say about it? I realize that's a rabbit hole....

The dual alt. option gives you the amps to run a plow, winch, lights etc. [ have it on my Power Wagon also ,it really helps keep the battery charged in the camper also .  good luck with your new FWC

Thanks.  There was nothing in the owner's manual that I could find.  Am I correct that the dual alternators work on the same electrical circuit--just like having a larger capacity single alternator?  My wife and I can't wait for the new Hawk!
