Deltarat,

The power shower is made by a small company named "Paha Que" that specializes in tents and enclosure for camping etc. I recently looked for it on their web site and they may not be producing it anymore. It consists of a 5 gallon bucket with a resealable lid, an immersible 12v pump under the inner lid that provides a pressure stream to the shower head, and a rechargeable battery. The pump puts out enough pressure to give you a good raise while showing, much better that just the gravity flow from typical sun showers. The shower head has a push button controller to activate the stream and the pump has an on/off switch at the bucket lid. The whole set up can be used like a sun shower or as we do just add a couple coffee pots of water for a great warm shower. The battery did quit after about a years so we are running it off the camper 12v system.

DLN
Thanks for the info. I checked their web page and they still make them, although they are presently on back order. Looks like a needed addition as
soon as they're back in stock. The little heating unit also looked interesting.

Thanks again.

DLN,

My '08 Panther's setée is removed and I'm working on getting my dinette just right!

I have some questions:
  • Do you use the potie in place or do you pull it out into the aisle?
  • Did you conscider putting the folder on the door side and just use a cusion against the cab side?
  • What brand pottie do you have? Do you recomens it?

Thanks for the great inspiration! I hope to post serious progress later in the week!

Scott,

We have to pull the porta potti out about 2" so the lid has room to stay in the up position. We upgraded the porta potti to what was then a Thetford model 565? They have changed their line since and a comparable unit now would be the model 365. The unit works great for us and is a much better height for comfortable use.

When I was planning the dinette we mocked up a folding seat back in the front position and found that it blocked access to the potti, the corner cabinet, the refer, and especially caused problems getting through the door. In an Eagle the space just isn't there for two good seat backs, however in your camper you may have more width available to accommodate it.

I'm looking forward to seeing your results. Best of luck.

DLN,

Thanks for answering my questions. I do have much more room. I'm narrowing the walk way by about an inch, maybe two.

Attached is a teaser pic. I'm far from done, under-skilled, lacking the right tools for cabinetry, and under funded! Even so, it's working out OK... So far...

Scott,

Looks like you've got a start, can't wait to see the end result or even more progress shots.

You inspired me to to rip into my Eagle.
Then I realized an Engel 45 frig could fit if I remodeled.
I am wanting to adapt your Dinette mod and have backs to both seats.
I have built the front box 18" deep x 9" wide to be level with the upper most pc.of plywood @17" high.
17" is higher than yours but it is needed to match the 20"high fridge.
This box has the battery in it, with storage above it.
I had to go with an optima battery so the Engel frig will fit next to it.
Why optima batteries?
The performance, size and weight difference,120hr, 1000 CCA, starting & deep cycle, is only 6.75" X 10":D.
You do not need an acid/gas box with Optima since they are completely
sealed, and can not leak no matter what position you mount it in.
They said you do not need to vent it but I will anyways.
I was shocked to find I could still reach the turnbuckle with the battery in place:thumb: (or I could put a 2nd optima in that space)

So here are the questions
In your #4 pic what is behind your battery?

Where can I find the hardware for the cushions/back, were yours 4WC?
Is 3" foam enough ...How tall are the arms and rails?

What kept you from putting a back on the door side seat..clearance ?
What options did you find...Swivel option?

explore,

I'm glad to hear you're building a dinette, I love to see where these mods go and will look forward to the pics.

The battery separator is behind the battery case to the photo #4. That's the stock location from the factory though the battery location was changed way back in a previous mod.

The back hardware is stock from FWC, I used the original roll over couch mechanism for it. When I mocked up the dinette with that configuration in the other seat it interfered too much with the door, fridge door, and the corner cabinet. I was working on a removable or maybe swiveling back for the seat but never got around to applying it.

I used the stock 4" foam and just reshaped the couch cushions. If you go back to the beginning of the thread there's a good description of the seat back construction.

Sounds like you've got a great mod going keep us posted.

I just replied to a PM from natjwest who was inquiring about the inside shower we had in our Eagle and since there seems to be some renewed interest I thought I'd bring the thread forward. The shower info is on page 4.
