I also like Martres' books, but don't expect to be alone at many of the places - lots of other people read them too. [emoji6]

Thanks to all for your input!  I am now back in Minnesota after 21 days touring (mostly) Southern Utah.  Spectacular place.  I can understand why some of you like it so much.

I will be doing a trip report as the rainy weather followed me home from Utah (if I can ever figure out how to post pictures from a Mac or fire up the ancient XP machine).  Just to give you a hint: I had more snow days (attractions closed due to snow, roads a slimy mess) the I have had in Minnesota in the last two winters.

I decided, since this was my first trip to Utah in years, I would tour all 9 National Parks/Monuments and just get a feel for the place.  Now Laurent Martres book will make sense and i will be able to plan the next trip better (first browse was a little overwhelming).

Thanks again,

jim
