I've been on the market for a FWC. But am having a hard time finding one. Spotted a Phoenix for sale, initial research would indicate they are pretty nice? Thoughts? Do they have aluminum frames?

Phoenix campers have aluminum frames, My 6 year old custom Phoenix was purchased new, the roof does not leak, was reasonably priced for a custom but had some minor fit and finish problems, some cheap materials, but all easily correctable.

Not all Phoenix are aluminum framed though. Best place to look to verify, according to the gal whom I talked at at Phoenix, is in the door latch opening in the jamb. You'll see either aluminum or wood thru that opening.

I'd put the aluminum framed Phoenix in the same category as the Outfitter Caribou Lite.  Both have nice layouts but will probably need a lot of tweaks and maintenance compared to a FWC or ATC.

Bumping this topic.

Anyone with thoughts on new Phoenix construction? Both pop up and hard sides.

Thanks, any input appreciated, J

Wandering Sagebrush, any chance you could link to this thread? I’m having trouble searching for it...found My Taco, but no posts re: Phoenix.
Thanks, J
