I searched but didn't find anything other than FWC thread. I didn't want to spend that $$$ for something I would not use often. So I ordered a Foxwing extension along with the zippered piping adapter and set it up as my rear awning. Worked pretty good! It does hang a little off on each side of the C-channel, which I will remedy with some additional brass pole holes and bungee cords. We actually camped for a few days, and I Just left it up. Oh and we had an extensive young bear visitation... Rhinos part numbers are- 31101 for the awning extension and 32106 for the zipper/piping adapter. Amazon sells them along with Etrailer etc.

Is that Hone Quarry? We camp there a bit in the off season. Base camp there in cold weather.

GW is one of the big reasons I bought my Eagle. We like to camp on top the mountains and do dispersed camping most of the time.

Thanks for the visitor shot! We have only seen one down there. Once up on 2nd mountain.

Hey Squatch. Yes that is Hone Quarry. We camp there a couple times a year, my son rock climbs and it's a good place to practice - hidden rocks. We usually disperse camp also, but after driving FR95/85 up to Reddish Knob and not finding a spot we liked, we ended up at Hone and just hiked and chilled over the weekend.

We saw this young bear on our way back to camp. Then he visited us, decided to lay down right next to us, come into our camp, check out our fire, and we had a hard time getting him to move on. Even saw him again today down by the Hone Quarry pond/lake.

So, do you know of some good spots around, you can PM me? I know a few down south of SNP in the GWNF west of Lynchburg.

Those pics make me feel a little Vulnerable. I have stopped overnight at Hone quarry twice so far this year and slept in my tent cot.

As far as places to go. Maybe I'll just let you know next time we are heading down. We spend most of our time in the dry river district. We have an awesome 1st night in place that's easy to get to but is pretty remote. About 2 miles of low range off a main road. It's a great Friday night meet spot when we do small groups.

View from Flagpole Knob!

Small group of Isuzu folks. One of my favorite sites to camp. From here you can see all of Harrisonburg at night and see Skyline drive 30+ miles in the distance. Higher than Skyline drive at this point.

I won't be happy till I have my truck and camper in the spot!

Sorry for the thread jack. GW does that to me.

No problem on the thread jack. We almost went to flagpole but was a little apprehensive solo in a ram 2500 with no recovery equipment. But I do want to get the big girl up there.

That shouldn't be a problem going up the back way from HQ in decent weather. It's pretty smooth. It's always nice to have another vehicle around in case of a stuck or you break something. It's happened to our group. Nice thing about GW is Harrisonburg isn't far away and they have parts stores.

I bought the FWC Awning. Over the 18 months I think I used it once - I was working on the rig at home and wanted to keep the rain off me. I am not a fan.

I was thinking about the SunSeeker 2.0 from Rhino Racks, but it's pretty low down on my to-do list.
