Hello,

We're currently researching portable fridges to add to our FWC Eagle shell. We definitely want one that has separate fridge and freezer compartments, so we can have both instead of choosing one or the other. We also are looking for reasonable pricing (under a grand is preferable).

So far, we really like the Dometic CFX-65DZUS and would love input from anyone who owns one. Also, reports on how much energy this thing uses are all over the board, from 2-3 amps/h to 5-7 amps/h. Anyone have some field-tested values out there? We'll be dry camping so we need to ensure our energy system is adequate to keep this thing powered.

Thanks tons!

No experience with this unit, but it seemed like the current draw (5.5) is on the high side. Check out Engel and TruckFridge, too. The Engel 65 draws up to 3.6 amps.

I have the Dometic CFX-35.  It has been used for 25 weeks over the last 1.5 years and seems to be doing just fine.  Don't know the power usage and don't seem to have any problems with it.

Truckfridge makes cooler fridges and "reefer" type units.

I have a cooler type unit and have had great service in the 4 years I have used it.

Their products have good reviews. And the prices seem to be reasonable.
