I guess this one is for Ben and Marty -

I have a 2000 Ranger with a deadbolt. Do you recall the manufacturer you used back in 2000? I only have a single key, it is a copy and I have had trouble having more copies made. The one key I have is pretty worn. There is no writing on the exterior of the lock and I haven't taken it apart yet.

Is it a special type to fit? I noticed that there are mobile home type deadbolts. I wasn't sure if there is a certain type to fit the camper doors.

I was thinking of buying a new lock or having this one rekeyed...

Thanks for all your help!
Jim

Most of the locks came with a small slide dead bolt that works from the inside of the campers. Phillips is your door manufacturer out of Oregon Trimark is probably the maker of the lock assembly. I am not sure of the shipping times from Phillips but Ben would be more than happy to ask them if they would sell us some parts or a complete assembly. Some time around 2000 they did indeed change thier lock style. if it is at all possibal to post a photo of the lock and key Jeff would know what to order for you.
Have a nice day. Marty

Just to cover all aspects here in 2000 we offered a seperate dead bold from the door lock. In 2000 that dead bolt came from the local hardware store and can be changed or rekeyed with no problem. We still recomend that it be rekeyed to match your front house door . One less key to carry around that way. I hope this helps. Marty

Thanks guys! It is the separate deadbolt that I am referring to. If it is a standard deadbolt, I should be able to have it re-keyed pretty easily.

I did get new keys for the regular door lock from Fastec Industrial Co. at 1-800-837-2505. The key had FIC and a number on it. I called them and gave them the number on the key. They sent me two new keys for a few dollars each.

Thanks for all the help,
Jim

Jim,

If your talking about the dead bolt that is separate from the door handle it is just a standard house dead bolt. You should be able to take it out and go to any hardware store to replace it. If you need more info, give me a call at 800-446-1003

Sincerely,

Ben
