3.5 inches is what the normal CBI swingout and table require to be pushed back to clear the camper.  Being a fabricator, i did it myself

I have a 2013 V6 Taco with a Fleet also.  One of the first things I did was take out the large bumpers to move the camper closer and shorten the overhang.  I have seen some people say they are there to put the camper in a favorable position for weight, but I did not move it probably more than 2 inches so not sure that made much difference.  I used washing machine thick red rubber hose that I cut to length then placed a smaller diameter same type hose inside that and then bolted them to the exact same spots where original bolts were located.  It is very hard to push it inward  The top ones do not even touch, the bottom ones make the contact as did the old ones.  I have seen others use small sections of tire tread also.

I've been in contact with Aluminess several times begging them to make a swing out rear bumper for the 3rd gen Tacoma that accommodates the FWC. I even offered to loan them my truck and camper to do the development since I'm not far from their facility. So far, no luck in getting them to develop anything for the '17 Taco.
