Thanks to advise from Jimixsm, I just installed a set of Malone Wings on my factory roof rack. Here's some photos...  There is just 3/8 inch gap between roof surface and bottom of bolt or wing nut, but Marty says it's enough.  Heck of a lot cheaper than installing a system...

Thanks Jim!!

Thanks!  I have a small "Poke" boat that I've owned for 30+ years that will be retiring soon to make way for an Old Town Dirigo Tandem Kayak.  Hope to mount a small electric motor (Skimmer maybe) on it at some time.  It will also be outfitted to stabilize a small tripod with a heavy lens on it - that is unless I chicken out for fear of equipment taking a dip...

Like you, I'm afraid of swimming with a big lens and DSLR. I have a replacement policy, but don't want to have to use it.

If I remember my high school Latin correctly, that is "you love", as in " amas DSLR, so don't drop it in the drink. :P

Thanks for all the responses!  I am very impressed that Latin was offered in high school, and even more impressed that you remember it Paul...
