Already helped. Do we have many members in that area?

Didn't want to donate blood this weekend just in case I went on a strenuous hike. Learned the hard way about doing that.  Oh well, that wasn't likely to happen anyway :) Gets me closer to my 20 gal goal.

20 gallons? Wow. Good for you. My Dad gave 18 + gal. I'm at 9 gal.

If my math is correct, it takes more than 26 years giving 6 times/year to hit 20 gallons. (Assuming they don't find something new to shut off your donations.). ;)

Nine isn't bad at all! I started when I was 18. Up to seventeen currently so 20 is within reach if I stay healthy. I'd be further along but I didn't donate while spending summers fighting fires. Don't doubt I'll feel it a bit at altitude this weekend. Started out doing whole blood then apheresis when they asked me to donate platelets. Eventually started having issues with low hemoglobin. Doctor said stop donating. Bloodsource stopped me from doing apheresis but never had a good explanation why. Anyway 2 to 4 times a year doing whole blood and hemoglobin seems happy at that rate.

Total Donations: 147

Bloodsource only has records back to 1988. I wonder how good record keeping was before then?

Wow.

Almost 400 views and only one compassionate reply with two talking of themselves.

Don't be too down. Some give without posting about it. The Salvation Army is my choice. There are several fundraisers happening locally in Portland for those in need. I've heard of other places, also.

Lots of people give and never mention it.

The important thing is to give where and if you can.

Hope you are safe and "normal" will come back as soon as possible.

Sorry for the abrasive attitude. It's just, with the way some are so quick to comment on the silliest of topics here, "beating a dead horse" and such ... it seems as though somebody would AT LEAST comment on how well the area is conducting itself in the face of an uncertain future. No looting ... even when the cameras are dissecting every opportunity to record it.

Thanks to all who said a prayer or gave or is planning on helping in any way. I guess comments and reassurance of help really aren't needed.
