Reading between the lines it sounds like you would be happiest with something lighter and more minimalist but man....a potty and shower sure would be nice!
For me, I think a camper and airstream would be too much overlap. If I had the means I would build a traveling rig set up for minimalist camping, use that for a while and then if you want more comfort, buy the airstream.
It seems the resale value for a minimalist overland rig that is well built is better because it appeals to a much broader audience that a special built rig that tries to encompass everything. Same for airstream trailers.
