Hey all, I have been around your forum for a few years, and it was thanks to your posts  was able t score a 1970s Roamin Chariot that I lived out of for a couple of years. I wanted to show yo what I have been working on and what some of you might have seen at Overland Expo West. Though the Chariot was sweet, the wedge was not. I love to have space to cook with my partner "upstairs," but I also wanted something lighter an roomier. I made the OVRLND Pop Top to fill the gap between a FWC/ATC and a topper. It weighs under $350 and has a full size queen up top that slides back to a bench. It has nearly a 3' space above the bench/bed so you can nearly sit upright an read or play cards. There are also 2 extruded T slot rails on wither side which make adding any bench, table, or storage extremely easy. The frame is left exposed so it is easy to hard mount anything to the sides. I am a one man shop in Flagstaff so doing one offs keeps it fun.

Thanks again for helping me find my first camper which drove me to build what I think many of you will like!

Please PM for more info!

Cheers,

Jay

Nice. That would be a great way to build your own custom interior.

That's the whole idea. So many built in camper stoves go unused on a sunny day.

Looks great.  One question though.  You are using those 'C' clamps to hold the camper on?  How do they hold up in off-road situations?  I would think that when you have a few people on the bed platform, that back 'C' clamp might be kind of stressed?

Thanks!

No problems so far. I have 3 c clamps on each side and hammered some washboards with no slip issues. Since there are three I havent noticed any stess on the rear one when sitting in the bed. That piece of AL along the runner is 4" wide so it could easily be bolted to the truck bed.

Glad you found me in the corner of the solar booth! Tons of fun at the expo and amazing stuff this year for sure.

It will, I make them custom for any truck. Currently working on 2 Gen 2 SB double cabs. Still a full queen slide out wit about 20" to hop down in the night and make a midnight bathroom run.
