I took a terrific trip in May - joined by my friend Dan, who has an ATC popup camper, for a few days. We toured and camped in/at:

Cedar Mesa, Bears Ears, Elk Ridge, Beef Basin, Montezuma Canyon, and Hovenweep National Monument in UT

Canyons of the Ancients, and Dolores Canyon in Colorado.

Lots of photos and time lapse videos of the night sky, too.

Each part links to the next, so you really only need to click the first link below.

Well, made it through part 1 so far.  Good stuff!  Glad you and Dan had a good time.  Probably should've given you more beta on Beef Basin but there is a balance between information and adventure,

Bill, you should get out more often. Your trip reports are a special delight, and I would like to see more of them.

Color me green with envy! What a great trip and report. I’ve always wanted to explore Beef Basin, North Cottonwood and all the roads that branch off those areas but I’ve been reluctant to do it alone. It’s nice you had a buddy to share the adventure and back each other up if anything went wrong.

And you got to love Avenza. I love to spread my paper maps out on the kitchen table to plan a trip but it’s great to have the Avenza maps while on the trail. I know it’s kind of whimpy, but seeing that little blue dot on the map is pretty cool.

Thanks for all the time you have spent over the years creating great trip reports and photos for us to enjoy and follow.
