I’m making sone stakes to use when setting up a tarp in deep sand. They are 2” schedule 40 PVC roughly 10” long. There’s a loop of climbing cord for attaching the guy lines. I’m also making some plywood deadmen with long cords for the guy lines.

Anyone have other ideas that are cheap and easy?

Just an idea ...

HD bags. Fill with sand on site. Use as Anchor with rope attached.

Steve, I just bought the Orange Screw tent stakes on Amazon. They are an auger type. Great video to show their uses. Think I paid $23+/- for a 4-pack.

I find that a buried ripstop 'parachute' works as well as anything.  Minimal weight and storage space.

Hi Sage

You must already know this but one can angle cut PVC pipe with a good power miter saw and make a very sharp stake ....pound in with a block of wood to protect the top of stake from pounding.

Scientific research has demonstrated that vertical set stakes are as strong as the old slanted stake placement.....one still trips over the line.
