Apparently the rains from Rosa opened up a sinkhole near Cameron (about where the Little Colorado bridge is) that caused a fatal accident last night (10/3/2018) and opened up a sinkhole that has closed a stretch of the highway in both directions.

Traffic is currently being routed through WInslow and Tuba City.  Plan accordingly the article says 89 is expected to be closed for an extended period.

Hwy 89 in Arizona seems to be vulnerable. The landslide south of Page will probably never be removed.

There is now a temporary fix in place and the highway has been reopened.  News says to expect reduced speeds through the area.
