We decided to get another short trip in before we ended the season.  We took a trip North on the Indiana backroads to Mississinewa Lake.  This is an area of Native American Heritage.  Our exploring the Francis Slocum State Recreation Area was the main theme of this trip report.

 

We had 40-50 mph wind gusts half the day Saturday that prevented our plans to do some birding.  It was too dangerous to hit the trails.  We both watched a huge tree limb crack and fall 40-50 feet to the forest floor.
