A friend has had two panel failures with this model:

 

HQST 100 Watt 12V Monocrystalline Lightweight Solar Panel for RV/Boat/ Other Off Grid Applications

 

Does anyone have any experience with this type or any recommendations for something to use beside this one? I don't run solar, so not sure if other information is needed to make a suggestion. Thanks.

There have been some negative posts on Amazon for this product and a lot of good comments too.

 

Mounting approach seems to be at the root of a number of the problems:

I bought a roll-up solar panel at Goodwill for 7.99 about 7 years ago with built in controller. I used it on the dashboard, then some thugs broke into my  LOCKED small cargo trailer and took what they wanted.
