If any of you could help me out, My 76 CO 8' was dramatically altered a few owners ago and they neglected to save the original parts for the new owner where the power 110/12 volt goes in and out is now an aluminum plate. His goal was to go exclusive 12 volt. I don't hook up to many land power so an extension cord will handle that. My goal is to duplicate the original look (upgrade where I can) perhaps Alaskan can sell me this ? Thanks and happy holidays to you all PS see you in Arizona110:12 volt.jpg

Sorry Wagoneer I just read your post. I know I'm a day late but if you need another pict. I can send you one. It will have to be tomorrow, we're having a blizzard here in Kansas :)
PackRat, what is the socket next the the 110v. outlet for? I've got one just like that, If fact, my whole set up is just like yours.

Thanks,

Joe in Kansas

Joe...

The two-socket opening in the top photo is for the running lights and the interior lighting when you are NOT using shore power and to do that you have to swap out the 110-volt bulbs for 12-volt bulbs.

You need to download the available manual for the Alaskan and you will find the diagrams and descriptions of the electrical systems, the plumbing, etc. in it. I believe they are in a sticky here in the Alaskan forum.

The system was designed to use a pig-tail that connects to the truck and is being fed the running lights and a dedicated (but fused!) 12-volt feed for the Alaskan lighting system.

If you have the pig-tail you are good to go, otherwise you will have to make up on or look long and hard for one and be in competition with others who need one as well!
