I found myself checking the release date on the piece, fully expecting it to have been on April 1.

While I'm not sure this concept will be rolling out in the next few months I do believe it has the possibility of going mainstream.
The modular concept is very appealing, particularly for us in the off-road community.
Here's a concept review by TFL...pay attention to the range, payload and price.
In going to the companies website they also mention 4 wheel steering...that would be cool on the trails!

Did you notice how they DIDN'T talk about heating the cab in sub-zero weather, or providing a/c in the summer? How much is THAT stuff going to draw the batteries down, and how much range will really be left?

Hey-if this works just think, next step is maybe a solar panel or two for both the truck and pop-up! Throw in one of those wind things and off-grid here we come ! Something to hope for I guess-at least for the next generation of pop-up owners

Speaking of 'mainstream'... I think things will accelerate a bit faster than us old folks think... remember we didn't't even have a computer 20 years ago at home. The only change one can truly count on not happening is from a vending machine... 'what's a vending machine?

Seems Ford has announced a "hybrid/electric" truck in a couple years.
One can only guess at the cost.
Good idea though.
I have been a fan of the "gas/hybrid" since 2005.
I have had a Ford Escape hybrid and now have a Toyota Highlander "gas/hybrid".

My sister loves her hybrid with very good mileage. Apparently Ford is also going to have a F150 all electric too.
