Yikes that would be a rather unexpected ride when the support broke. Glad she still likes the camper though.

I have a eagle that appears to be similar in age. When I redid the inside I discovered that several of the welds on the front aluminum frame were cracked. Central Toast has a write up on a his issue which was similar to mine. http://www.wanderthe...e-lack-thereof/ I can't help but wonder if a few welds broke when it got dropped.

Nice set up and sweet jeep

Absolutely possible. Thank you for the tip! I am really tempted to remove and replace the inner walls in this thing but really trying not to bite off more than I can chew and keep it easy.

I've really had trouble finding where the aluminum frame is to attach things to the walls.

I removed/rolled up the aluminum siding to access them. It was the easiest way I could think of.

Well, obviously been a while.

Wife and I bought a house in December 2019, so was pretty busy with that. Built a little trailer out of a pallet stand from work to pull the camper in and out of our backyard because trying to swap it in the loose dirt was a recipe for disaster. Still need to add a jack and supports.

Got it out during a Covid isolation last Thanksgiving to prep for new years in the desert and got in pretty deep. Tore the inner walls out, found a bunch of broken welds on the front frame etc.

Took the front siding off and repaired what I could and had my buddy weld in some replacement framing with his spool gun. Got it closer to where it should be but not perfect.

Started some rigid foam insulation, just 1" thick stuff from home Depot. Tried to get as much in there as I could. Built a lift mechanism from some 1" tubing, heims, and spacers. The roof attachment point is some sway bar bushings and some riv nuts in the ceiling square tube. It works well enough, definitely could use some dialing in and struts to help with the initial liftoff. Currently using some thumb screw hose clamps to clamp the top and bottom tubes together so that could be improved too.

I bought a suburban furnace from a friend and was making the most garbage mount for a propane tank and my neighbor offered to help me (aka build himself while I watched) build a nice cabinet for it. Probably going to be the nicest thing in the camper. Should hold a 20lb propane bottle a 12v battery and the furnace.

Ran out of time for that trip and just took it half done to the desert with the Mr buddy heater and had a good time. The put it away until a week or so ago.

Fast forward to this Thanksgiving, time to prep for a new years trip again.

Fresh paint on the lower bulkheads under the carpet. Leftover engineered hardwood from out house went down pretty quickly.

Started replacing the interior walls after finishing the insulation. Using some 3/16 underlay ply from home Depot.

Happy with my results so far. Still a lot of with to do. Finish & paint interior panels, install the 1/4 round trim I cut for the floor. Finalize install of furnace cabinet, finish wiring and venting for 12v system, make a more sturdy bed slide support, and finish weld/paint my lift mechanism. I'm sure a million other things.
