I will check mine. Bought it last year when they were expecting us to get nailed by a hurricane. Never had to use it. Could be a good thing....

Thanks Sage

Saw the notice in local Coast & Ranch store. Posted on empty shelf. The Honda 1000 shelf was full.
Has been rare to see a Honda recall.

I thought getting old would take longer.

I read the story, 19 claims out or 1000s sold and in use...yeah, potential fire hazard but there is a fire hazard anytime...some of these claims could have been from overheating, misuse, neglect..etc...i would safely assume many more people have been badly burned from fueling hot or still running generators that don't fall under this recall...in my mind, minor issue, I would buy one in a heartbeat...

Agreed oldhotrod:)

When I looked up the recall I got curious and looked at some of the previous.

BTW do NOT buy lumber liquidators (or something like that) 5 gallon buckets. They are on recall for not be marked properly. Seems they forgot to tell everyone that a bucket of water was a drowning threat to young children......

The reason I posted the link was to let people know of the fire potential with a limited number of generators, not to suggest folks not buy them. Honda makes a good product.

Understood, just giving my opinion of the recall, not your post...info is always better than ignorance but sometimes info can be skewed...

Steve,

Thanks for the public service announcement.

Looks like mine is made in Japan, instead of Thai Honda of Thailand.

Again, thanks for the note.
