We are looking for place to overnight within about 100 miles south of Woodland Thursday night....need to visit the factory on our way north Friday.
Any thoughts?

About 60 miles south of Woodland off of I-5  is Hy-12, take it west into the Delta, there's plenty of places to camp. The first one would be Tower Park Marina, they have a big KOA there, then about 6~7 miles further west is the "Delta Loop", several places to camp on the loop. This time of year you should have no problem finding a site.

A little farther south than K6ON's locations, between the towns of Modesto and Manteca is the town of Ripon on Hwy 99, and just about 6 miles west of there is one of my favorite hidden gems, Caswell Memorial State Park. It is a California State park, so the camping fees are in the area of $25 - $30, or so.

 

The directions on the web site are if you are going South, i.e. off Hwy 99 at Austin Road, go South.

 

If going North, I get off at Main Street in Ripon, over Hwy 99, jog North two blocks to West Ripon Road, turn West until you get to Austin Road, turn South, until the road ends at the campground.

 

Once you get the campground location, you can figure out how to get there from I-5.

If it isn't too far, 130 miles south of Woodland is the Madeiros Campground on Oneil Forebay, the forebay for San Luis Reservoir. It is primitive, usually fairly empty, and conveniently close to I-5. You do get the noise from I-5 there though. 10 minutes further there is the Basalt Campground on San Luis Reservoir. A bit nicer and a lot quieter.

 

Expect morning commute traffic through Stockton and Sacramento. If there are at least two of you, you can use the HOV lanes which help somewhat.

Coming north on I-5, you'll go through Stockton, then after about 8 miles, you'll pass the "Eight Mile Road" turn-off.  Continue to the next turn-off which will be HY-12.

 

The Hy-12 exit is clearly marked.  There's a "Flag City" RV resort there, a McDonalds, a Flying J travel center, etc.  You really can't miss it.  Head west a few miles to very tall bridge at "Terminous" , The Tower Park turn-off is just before you go over the bridge, it too is clearly marked..  If you travel a few more miles, you'll cross the second bridge over the Mokelumne River.  Immediately past the bridge, on your right will be the turn-off to the Delta Loop. It's a 8~9 mile loop that has several Marinas and campgrounds.

I visit Oregon a lot.  Heading that way in May looking at property.  Looking to move somewhere between Eugene and Florence.
