Making a fast jaunt down to Albuquerque in a few weeks.  Looking for camping/hiking & sightseeing opportunities.  Have about 3 days to spend before heading back to Calgary.  Ideas/thoughts/links/pictures welcome!

Vic, drive the Turquoise Trail (NM-14) to Santa Fe.  Stopping in Madrid (not pronounced like the capital of Spain) for lunch.

If heading north on NM-14, after Cerrillos, head NW to I-25 for about a 30 minute drive back down to ABQ.

Coronado State Historic Site at Bernaillo.  right off of 25.  site of pueblo that first encountered the Spaniard Coronado when he marched north in search of treasure.  Above ground kivas, fabulous ancient murals, good interpretation of events.  great NM food available locally too.

Might send Bosque Bill a message, he lives in the area and could probably provide some insights.
