Got our new Grandby.  The stock USB charging port is on the drivers side, under the kitchen counter.  That means all your stuff to be charged ends up on the kitchen counter, dinette seat or just hanging down.

Sure wish it had a charging port on the other side. . . . .

Humm, FWC pre-wires for options not installed. LED side lights or maybe even a fan for an LP refer.  If you have a compressor fridge, you might not need that fan/circut.

Pick up an inexpensive ($16) USB charging hub on Amazon.    LINKY

Cut the end off and add a male & female spade connector.

Find the LED side light wiring not used/ordered as an option.

Make a jumper.

Jumper the wires together.  Or, get a switch from FWC that fits the panel.  I'll do that later.

Poke a fish wire through the silicone for the reefer wiring.

Grab the end in the cabinet and fish it up through the other hole near the reefer AC outlet.

Drill a hole between the two upper cabinets.

Waa Laa!!!  USB charging on the passenger side. In the cabinet or above.

Nice write up. I did something similar in our Hawk, but came right off the battery with an inline fuse.

Totally agree the stock location is in the way of cooking activities. We sure have a lot devices to charge up these days!

Yea, we first noticed everything we plugged in ended up on the kitchen counter.  Time to make dinner and 3-4 cell phones taking up counter space.  Well, that just sucks.  Sure would be better if they where on the other side out of the way when using the kitchen.

My little fix will only work for the front dinette models.

It sure is nice that FWC pre-wired for other options and tagged the wire leads.

We added 2 small hooks on the counter wall just around the power outlets up close to the counter top.

We then tied a bootlace to the hooks and ran it through a basic 8" x 11"side load document portfolio that holds our iPad, 2 cell phones and all cords.

They sit in that while they charge as well as just in general.

Nice out of the way place.

Works great.
