This post won’t interest you off the grid Campers but for those like my wife and I who spend most of our time plugged in at RV parks this inexpensive electric heater works like a champ.

The factory propane heater in our 2015 Hawk works fine but it always seems to be either too chilly or too hot in the camper when the heater cycles on and off. The constant cycling would also worry me about running out of propane in the middle of the night even though the heater is quite efficient.

We recently spent 21 bucks on this little guy from Home Depot and it’s likely the best upgrade we’ve made to the Hawk. During a week long stay in Moab where the overnight temps were in the mid to low thirties our camper stayed at 65 to 68 degrees with the heater set on it’s low setting. When we shuffled off to the shower house in the morning I’d turn the switch up to high and when we returned 20 minutes later it would be 75 degrees in the camper. The wife was loving this action! It also has an adjustable thermostat so you can dial in your perfect temp. A fan only setting also creates a little white noise if that might help you sleep.

For 21 bucks it really enhanced our cold weather camping comfort.

Bought one similar last year from Walmart while on a trip. It's great to keep in one of the bench storages for circumstances you described.

Like  your story my significant other is quite temperature comfort minded so when she comes along it's a concern.

Good to keep in the camper.

Good to know.

Agree, the constant heating is preferable to furnace cycling. Those ceramic types are probably the best all rounders. We've burnt through a few other brands and can find them a bit noisy but you can't beat the price and weight of the general design. I like the oil heaters myself for quiet, but Mrs says they give off a burning odor.

For cool (and quiet) nights, Mrs also uses a 120V heat pad (the type for shoulder or back pain relief) and this year we picked up an electric throw.

Yep, it might not be "camping" but is is comfortable !

I have one of those for those rare occasions I plug in. It is nicer than the propane heater.
