Plan on being either in Jasper or Mt. Robson Park 5-15/16 and see that Victoria Day Holiday seems to run from 5-17 through 5-20 [Victoria Day]..

Question:  Besides closures of government buildings and some businesses [banks?]; do a lot of residents head out to camp/travel over that period?

Thanks...hope to adjust to traffic and work around any crowds..where we will be is not that far from Edmonton population center.

The May long weekend (May 17-20) is when our Canadian camping season kicks off.  Most campgrounds are dead or closed until then.

Mt. Robson won't be nearly as busy as Jasper.

I wouldn't worry about the crowds at either on the 15th and 16.  Traffic is not an issue at all.

Jasper closed Whistlers campground this year for renovations.  It's the biggest campground in the park.  So I'm not sure what things will be like this year.

You can book online.  Even if you don't book, you can pretend you are booking to see how filled the campsites are.  You'll notice 15 and 16 are avail and the long weekend is booked up.

Thanks for tip; knew about Whistler...with FWC Hawk we can always find a place off the grid if necessary...actually prefer a place not traveled in the boonies/bush...will look at Wapiti CG then on to Meadow CG at Robson on 15th before heading eventually to Hyder...have three weeks to explore..

Thanks again for information..
