I am getting ready to pick up a new Hawk shell in a couple of weeks. I currently own a  2016 double cab 6.5 foot bed Tundra. I am being offered an outstanding deal on a new F250. My question is, will the Hawk fit in the bed of the F250? The F250 is advertised as having a 6.5 foot bed. Is the FWC Hawk built in one size or different sizes depending on truck bed width/depth, etc. being installed on? Thank you.

Check the FWC website for the camper truck sizing. I would assume you provided the truck type to FWC when you placed the order. You should call FWC to discuss.Our 2014 Grandby was built with FWC knowing we had a 2013 F250 crew with 8' bed.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I ordered it specifically for the 2016 Tundra Double Cab 6.5 foot bed. I previously checked the FWC website camper truck sizing information which leads me to believe that the Hawk would be compatible between the two vehicles. However, during my research over the past couple of months I discovered information leading me to believe that the Tundra bed depth is somewhat deeper than the other manufacturers. Perhaps this is only in reference to the 1st generation Tundra. I will take your advice and contact FWC on Monday to discuss.

Have you looked at the camper fit guide on the FWC website? It's been a while since I have looked at it but it did have some good guidence.

No idea but thought I'd add my .02 When I purchased my 2015 Hawk for my F250 I was told that the Ford's have a higher bed to cab top height and were built specific for Fords. No idea if really a factor but thought I'd toss it out. If true all you might need to do is build up bed floor with brace?

The width and length of the bed shouldn't matter. What is different is the height of the bed between different manufacturers. I recently ordered a Panther shell for my '19 Tundra and Marty at ATC measured the height of the bed. He said that Ford and Toyota always seem to copy each other on their bed dimensions. I'd just go to a Ford dealership and measure the height of the bed from bottom to top of the rail and compare it to your Tundra. My prior '14 Tundra had a 2005 Hawk on it and I had to place some 2x6's on the bed to gain the extra height required to clear the rails of the bed. Congrats on your new FWC!!

Ronin is on target. Additionally, Ford cab heights are taller. My FIL and I built a platform for his older Lance to sit on just to clear the cab. That wasn’t an issue on his older Dodge. Good luck with your decision.

I have a 2013 Hawk sized to fit a Ford f150 and went down to the Ford dealer and measured a 2019 F250 and the camper wouldn't have cleared the top of the 250 cab.  The Ford f150 and Tundra have a very similiar size bed, probably wont clear the 250 cab.

I might be wrong, but I don't think FWC currently builds the actual camper any differently for different trucks. I think accommodations are made for different bed rail/cab heights by structure attached to the bottom of the camper. I know some people will build their own riser from lumber, to raise the camper high enough.
