SUMMER IS COMING!
Ebbetts Pass/SR-4 and Sonora Pass/SR-108 To Reopen After Long Winter Hibernation
We just talked with Area Superintendent, Chris Baker, who reports that he hopes to open State Route 4 (SR-4)/Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway at noon and to open SR-108/Sonora Pass at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019 for the summer season!
Baker indicates that both routes look really good. The crews are getting equipment off of the highway and down the mountain today. They are completing some sweeping, and filling potholes to get ready for the season opener.
“Hopefully the weather cooperates with us from here on out, and we have another successful summer season!” said Baker.
This is contingent on the weather continuing to cooperate and it could change if any unforeseen issues arise.
