The Pirelli seal comes in a long roll and you just cut to length. For the C/O section on the sides, mine had some aluminum trim holding it on with brads used to hold it into position. For the rest of the exterior, you remove the screws holding the 3/4" or 7/8" wide metal strips that hold it to the camper and then reinstall them with the seal being held by something like 1/2" brads until you get the metal strip installed. The brads stay in position under the metal strip.
If the metal strips are missing, you will need to find some of them to return the camper to the original method of sealing it in the up and down position. This goes for the exterior Pirelli installation. The main body of the camper has wooded battens screwed into the sides and the Pirelli seals are again, secured first with brads to hold them in position.
At least that's how my 1976 C/O came to me...
