Seven observers at Jedi Trench in Death valley were injured when a fighter crashed.  Pilot status unknown.

pa, Not sure where this should go. Maybe people planning trips should check with Park Service to see if the location is closed for s time.

I saw that in the web news, but it didn’t at that time specify exact location. I hope the pilot got out, and the injured will survive with no lasting injuries.

It made ABC national news tonight. Apparently the injuries on the ground were minor, but the pilot has not been found.

Was just there early June after leaving Stovepipe Wells. Marveled again at how they can thread the needle through there. I’ll bet somebody has footage and that is has been “offered up” to the authorities. Sad development.

Alley-Kat (Who is out wandering) sent me an update to the accident.  Cliff Notes:  too low, too fast for terrain.

That was a very hot day as I recall yet there was no meantion of air temperature in the video. Isn't density altitude a factor in trying a tight turn in a fixed wing aircraft?
