Need help,

on my 2017 Grandby thats been on the road a little more than two years, about a month ago the roof started leaking. A couple of hours after a decent rain it started dripping just about in the middle (length) and right about underneath the yakima track (right side). This happened about two or three times and as soon as we noticed we would lower one side of the roof, let the cascade run down and everything was fine.

As soon as I had the possibility I called FWC, they told me to check the roof for damage and missing screws. And there it was or wasnt, a missing screw in the yakima tracks about just above the spot where it was dripping inside. Another call, I was told to put a #8-1inch screw in there. To me it looked as if there had never been a screw in there, and the replacement does fit tight.

So now the dripping is even worse, almost continuously running, again getting the water puddle off the roof, ev fine. Anyone had a problem like this and what can I do ?

In addition while driving through very heavy rain for about 3 hours water came through the large center yellow light in the front of the camper. What kind of sealant can I use for this (now some black gooky stuff)

I had an issue with a marker light leaking on my 2014 Grandby. Remove the 2 screws, pull the light away, thoroughly clean the aluminum surface. Use polyurethane sealant. DO NOT use silicone. Carefully caulk around the opening for the wires and the screw holes. You can try to caulk the wire opening, but be careful if you put to much sealant on the hole it will get all over the sleeping area behind the carpet trim. Did you caulk the screw hole on the track before you put the screw in? It is my understanding FWC uses tape caulk between the track and roof. Was there a hole where the screw was missing? If you didn't caulk around the hole before you put the screw in that maybe the issue or there is another leak. jd

Something (or many things) is/are void of sealant.

I had numerous issues with leaks on my roof. Eventually, I finally just bit the bullet and pulled every single screw and all of the racks from the roof, cleaned each part with a wire wheel brush on a drill, and re-installed with 3M 4200. It was a major pain, but I haven't had a single issue since then.

FWC told me they use a polyurethane tape, through the yakima-track hole i could not detect a hole in the grey polyurethane beneath (so i couldn`t put in any sealant), to me it looked as if there had never been a screw in there and i had to force the replacement screw into the roof ( i had expected it would go in easy, if not even that it wouldn`t grip). I would hate to take the yakima tracks off and do a complete reseal, as I am on the road. Shouldn`t this issue be covered by warranty ? If so, will any FWC dealer do the job ? Or do i have to travel to CA ? Am in TX at the moment.

The marker light problem seems to be minor compared to the roof. I was a bit astonished though that the wires going through the hole do not have additional protection rubbing against the aluminium and making electrical contact (short) after some time.

The lights should have a nipple on the back of the light that fits into the hole so the wires shouldn't be contacting the metal

Well in all three front lights there is no nipple ! Can look from inside to outside. Took away the carpet, was soaked.
