Finished my suspension updates on my 2017 standard cab. New BFG T/A KO2 rubber, Hellwig big wig air springs with out compressor. Other modifications Dee Zee rubber bed mat, bicycle air pump with custom behind the seat mount. Truck weight at a local grain storage facility 5000 with 36 gal of fuel without passengers. GVWR 7050, payload rated at 2155. Dry Camper 1400 estimated people and gear 525 yep it’s going to be close. As stated in my earlier post camper use 4-6 weeks per year. Mainly on flat Midwest terrain. Camper storage in our heated poll barn to protect this investment. Should have on the truck next week. I will post pics and truck performance numbers in the future.

I look forward to the pics.

I'm surprised your payload number is so low on the 8' box regular cab.

I guess you need the payload package for the 3000# + payload.

I plan on getting the regular short box for my Hawk if my GMC dies, given GMC doesn't make one any longer.

BTW, Nice shop and driveway.

Thanks for the info.

I pickup my 2016 F150, FX4 supercab on Saturday and begin similar mods. I'm not getting my Hawk shell until 10/21/19. I had the BFG T/O KO tires on my Ranger and loved them. Will probably add them to the F150.

I'm curious as to why you are using the bicycle pump instead of a free standing 12v compressor.

I carry a compressor to air up tires after airing down, so was planning on using that for the airbags, I didn't have airbags on the Ranger, had custom spring pack, but will start with airbags on F150.

Nice looking Truck

Mainly for simplicity and storage. I won’t be changing tire pressure that much, but may purchase a 12v in the future.

Nice Truck, I don't think I've seen a F150 regular cab 8'bed for a long time.....and its not white.

It looks like you've found out that the weight sounds good.....until you add all the stuff.

For me I really like my extended cab and I couldn't fit both dogs into a regular cab.

It is interesting the Hellwig bags mount to the inside of the axle. On my 2011 the firestone mount is over the leaf spring.

Good luck, have fun

My next truck will be a extended cab / 8’ and probably a F-250. That’s down the road in a couple of years. Thanks for the well wishes.

Performance update with the new camper with 400 miles on the combined rig. Bags at 20 psi, camper weight of 1520, BFG/E tires front 60psi, rear 65psi. ECO 3.5 with 10 speed trans set on tow haul mode. Acceleration and overall handling is excellent. Cornering at corners marked 45 mph was a breeze without noticeable sway or wallowing. Crosswind and semi passing handled with confidence. The ride was very smooth and stable. Bridge transitions at highway speeds handled bumps very well. We have camped several times locally to get the hang of the camper systems all good. Dialing in all the little things to make camping enjoyable has been fun. Overall the F-150 /2150 payload with tow package is a winner in my opinion. I will be removing the camper at the end of Oct. to store in our shop. Looking forward for next years west adventures. I would also like to thank our FWC dealer Sean Dempsey/ Go Anywhere LLC. Thanks to all for their advice and comments.
