Hate to see that Eddie. Hoping you can get squared away soon. I assume you mean the home is in Hatteras Village and if so, our Forum friends here should be made aware that only in the last couple of days have nonresident property owners been allowed back down towards "the end of the road" in Dare County. And just across a narrow inlet from Hatteras Village lies the northeastern end of Ocracoke Island, where the village of Ocracoke at the other end is still in a world of hurt and has been without power since Thursday night/Friday morning of last week.
Best of luck to you and your neighbors down there!

What is this "Fall" is here?
in East TN We've had 90+ for the last 2 weeks with heat index's into the 100's.
My truck said 110 when I left work yesterday (middle of a parking lot, no shade)
I did see posts from a friend in Alaska, they were camping in 50's during the day.

3/4 inch of rain yesterday in 45 minutes, nice start to the upcoming wet season. Low this morning was 41°. Cold air sinks so the Tahoe basin was down to 29° this morning. A bit of snow in the high country. The sun will take care of that when it comes out. Possibly the change and cold weather is triggering the beginning of Fall colors? Yes, Fall is here.

Some places may not feel like the "winter is coming" kind of fall yet -- I was in hot and steamy Charleston, SC yesterday where it was 90°F and 65% RH at the beach.
When I got home to Bend late last night my house was cold...but I just crawled into bed and was warm.
This morning when I got up the house was colder -- and with an outdoor temperature in the 40's even mid-morning -- and a cold drizzle -- I knew I couldn't rely on the outside to warm the inside.
I turned on the furnace for the first time since spring.

Yep-got my furnace on too Mark-had to run around shutting all the windows on top of that. From high 80's one day to 30/40's at night with T-storms and lots of wind. We had snow in the high country and ICE on my street the other day. Another storm and cold front due in on Thursday , then getting hot again and temps back to normal day time like-high 70's low 80's. Go figure-must be almost fall !

The furnace? Almost forgot we had one. Another pre-winter checkout to complete!

We've been having summer weather here lately- 80s and high humidity. But I am not complaining. Fall (and winter) will be here soon enough. The trees know- they are starting their seasonal color show in bits and pieces.
