Quite a bit of wood rot, typical musty smell and the whole cabover floor was nonexistent. Canvas on the passenger side is free of any major holes or rips. Lift panels are in tact but the hinges are in bad shape. I think I will go with the EMT conduit lifters as I’ve seen others on here do.

Day 1 demo consisted of taking out the old paneling and the rotten plywood patch covering what used to be the propane locker door. Do anyone know where I might find a replacement from the same era? All the windows seem to be in good shape and I haven’t found any busted welds yet.

Propane doors are hard to find.  Both FWC and ATC sell them though.  I have bought both the square kind (for the horizontal 20# tanks) and the taller and skinniers kind that FWC uses now for the dual 10# tank setup.

The sideliners on this camper seem different than others I’ve seen posted. Most notably the absence of the small slim window on the cabover portion and a foam layer within the side liner. Was that an Arctic shield model designed to maximize interior heat?

Thanks Vic. I doubt I’ll use the hatch for propane, probably stick with the Coleman camp stove on the counter top. Just wanting to cover that hole with something other than plywood, maybe I can make an aluminum diamond plate door. Reskinning the whole rig is out of the budget at this point.

I cut a piece from a roll of metal roof flashing to cover holes until I'm ready to redo the whole outer skin.
