Is it necessary to use teflon on the threads of the flanged coupling in propane Tee for furnace flex supply hose ?

It seems the flange itself must make the propane seal.

There is a teflon pipe dope for propane.

Thanks in advance

you can put propane approved teflon on the threads, but NOT on the flange.  The brass crushes to make the seal.

I never have used any sort of lubricant on either SAE or AN/JIC flare fitting threads. They don't need it and if you do need it to form the seal then you've got problems. As Vic said, these fittings seal in the flare.

That's why I wondered....I guess it might help the fitting stay tight.....nah.
