There will still be some long trips. Just more of the shorter variety in between. Its going to make it more and more tempting to make the plunge to small motorcycle for exploring and using the camper more as a base camp.

I'm heading to baja next week so I hope Pemex isn't as greedy as Exxon/Mobil.

Yeah, since I started this topic I've done some looking around on fuelmeup.com. Gas here is $4.30 a gallon. It's $3.60 in Beatty, NV and $3.06 in Colorado Springs (we should go visit my brother). Prices on the Sierra east side (Bishop, Lone Pine, Mammoth or the middle of Nevada are usually close to or a little higher than here. Moral of the story...............we need to take longer trips

You're looking at $3.06 for diesel. $2.75 for the magna users out there. Have fun Dick.

Visit your brother with a large tank-trailer in tow: empty heading east and full back home! Posted Image

Based on my recent trip down there: Highest in Bridgeport, so fill up in Gardnerville, NV if heading heading south and save $1/gal.

We drive by Walker, Bridgeport, and Lee Vining and as we do we play the "Guess how high gas prices will be?" game. We play the same game at Furnace Creek in Death Valley, but sometimes you just need gas. And, I do like to buy occasionally hoping that I help keep them in business so when the need arises I can get gas. Panamint Springs Resort sometimes makes Furnace Creek look cheap. It was $5.28 a gallon for regular on New Years.

Yeah...I always buy gas in Fields, Oregon (Alvord Desert country) when I visit there even if I could make it to a cheaper source, for the same reason as you.

I always check the casinos when I'm in Nevada. Nothing like cheap fuel to get you to spend the savings inside

Speaking of casinos...In Bishop the cheapest gas seems to be at the "Paiute Palace Casino" on the Bishop Paiute Reservation on 395 at the north/west end of town.
