Pretty cool Frank, thanks! What piqued your interest in Panama and prompted this trip, if it's appropriate to ask?

My wife taught school at the United Fruit Co school in western Panama, next to the Costa Rican border. That was back in 1968/69 during the revolution which started in the area she was. We have friends, actually the co-teacher and her husband who is from Panama. A chance came up for an extended visit after a tour we were on. It's a pretty exciting country lots to see.One could drive there down the Pan American Hwy but not me.It was really cool to see where Sharon had lived and taught. Things had changed but a lot looked the same. All the homes and other buildings are not owned by the Co. anymore they are privet homes and in pretty good shape being over 70 years old. The U F Co. left back in the 70's. Even the banana fincas are gone for the most part and replaced with other crops and housing developments for the american expats. One thing that took some getting use to was all the military around with lots of guns and stuff. Sure different than the US.

Looks like a fantastic time! Sounds like the people are nice too. Fun way to spend the winter weeks of February.
