Drain after every trip

2X Yep, unless I'm heading right back out within a day or two. I use it for dish washing and sometimes cooking. During the winter (use my camper year-round and live in snow country) I always drain as soon as I hit the homestead-nothing worse than forgetting and having the the whole system freeze up and have to run to the valley or coast to let it thaw.  Since I have a hot water heater you need to get that cleaned out every once in a while or the system can spring a leak.

I sent an email to FWC.  Since I also want it for emergencies, I'm trying to determine the best/safe recycle period.  I've always left my tank full and the weight hasn't been a problem.  That said, since I'm retired I don't put a lot of miles on my truck.  I'm also looking at dehydrated food for emergency/camping.  Since I live in So Cal, earthquake preparedness is not a bad idea, especially since we have a second home on wheels:>)

We're even thinking about keeping our duffels packed with clothes and essentials for a quick emergency exit or last minute camping excursion.  It's nice to know that in about 20 minutes I could transfer refer food and be on the road.  I haven't figured out how to deal with Zombies yet :o

"00 Buck"  -  double ought buckshot shells work well for zombies, but you have to hit them center-mass.    We've got lots of em' around these parts.

Here is a good article on the 10 best ways to kill them.    I hope this helps.

We concluded that the plastic taste was from the hose and not the tank...

We use a Camco (White) TastePURE Drinking Water Hose.

I use the same hose to fill my tank.  The plastic taste is not from the fill hose but from the hose from the tank to pump and faucet. After we run a cup of water no plastic taste in the water.

We have never had a plastic taste to our water. I sanitize the water system once a year. I refill/top off the tank before the next trip. I do not drain in between.
