Wondering if anyone knows if the Yakima Railriders (1, 2, or 3) are compatable with the yakima track system installed on my ATC?  I realize they are discontinued but they are blowing them out on eBay.   I am specifically looking at the railrider 3 as a set of 4 can be picked up new for ~$40.  I have read they are specific to a dodge Durango in some descriptions but the tracks look to be the same and many say they work in typical track systems.  

 

That would definitely save some cash over the control tower which seem to be the current option.  Also interested to know which control towers people have if going that route and if the landing pads are needed.  Rack company's seem to go out of their way to make offerings at confusing as possible.

I would either get one of their fit brochures, or call some like Rack Attack or ReRack in Portland. Too many versions to be confident that you've got a secure rack system.

I went through this recently, here's what I found out:

 

Railrider 1 are meant to be used with the Yakima Tracks, they have a t-nut that slides into the track and a flat base. Railrider 2 and 3 are for OEM tracks on some jeeps, etc and won't have the correct base to mount to the yakima tracks.

 

For what its worth, the towers are the same, its just the 'foot' that mates with the track that is different. Should be able to find Railrider 1's fairly cheap on ebay still.

Thule Tracker II and TK1 kits work with the Yakima tracks. I found a set on craigslist through adhuntr.com

Awesome, thanks everyone.  I found the same Railrider 1 only or control towers with "landing pad 1"  Good info on the Thule there as well!
