I'm headed up to Medicine Lake (CA, Modoc) soon to fish and explore the caves.  Does anyone have a suggestion on the "best" campsite for this area.

What should I know before I go.

Thanks

Good luck-it's usually a zoo up there now.with the large RV's taking over most of the CG's and it's a mix of public and pvt land to also mix up things. so drive through and maybe get lucky, and then head for the overflow campgrounds and the dry cg's on the smaller outlying lakes. You may have to walk to the lake but less people. Might try for the res. like C(great for viewing the stars) and F, maybe Janes and the Warners, especially the northern ones, but Blue lake has to may people this time of the year and big Sage is real low!

Have fun

Smoke,

Thanks for the heads up. I am thinking Bullseye lake now with a side trip to the caves.  Fishing and a toilet sounds good to me!.  I am taking the kids so solitary is out.

Does anyone know of a good fishing spot?  I've caught a half dozen a day at McCloud last year, but my kids really want to catch, something.

Bullseye is marginal, maybe a day trip to a nice spot at Medicine?   Anyone know of a nice spot?

Help?

Thanks,

Roger

I know this is a little late, you will have already been there. But Bullseye Lake is a good choice.

We stopped there a few years ago and had it to ourselves. The fishing was great. I got to try out my new float tube.

Hope you had a fun trip.
