Weather forecast is superlative. Loading the last bits and the dog and hitting the road. Now I just need some traveling music. My truck came with a cassette deck can you believe it? And its broken :)

On the road again (finally). Lunch in Gerlach?

Lunch at Bruno's!

Have a look at Gerlach and Bruno's via the Burning Man website's "Gerlach cam". It's a riot to watch during the days leading up to The Burn and during The Exodus.

Looks like Craig is heading into an unusual outbreak of earthquakes.   :o

Seismologists are tracking a swarm of earthquakes SE of Lakeview in Great Basin desert

This story came out a couple days ago, but I just read it tonight.  If only I could have warned him...   :(

If his truck has good suspension he probably won't even feel the temblors.  ;)

Seriously, though... all you have to do is look at that state, Nevada, covered with mountains uplifted along fault lines and it's no surprise that it's seismically active.  Pretty cool, actually.

Craig, I'm out of here later today,  and heading NE and sort of your way :o - I could get up to Gerlach later on, but I need to stop at Rocky Point first at a almost empty, windy and hot Eagle Lak  e first. I need to test all my new thingies and whats you callets-another words my new solar set up/batteries/frig in a place with lots of sun for most of the day and yes a place that has Direct tv sat. reception  so I can find out if I can watch my niners and Giants without draining my batteries and running down my frig and losing more lamb chops. Yep, I realize I risk censure for mentioning bringing along a tv with sat dish ;) , but i'm old and set in my ways and require a weekly 49er fix   during the Fall. -----and there are times that I can't get my Giants (when the race gets hot-like now) or 49ers on the radio  . Have not seen allot of the Black Rock folks up here yet, but they should be arriving soon!
