I ordered one of the Simple Showers after seeing it on Expo.  Works fine, especially outdoors to do the basics.  I usually use two one liter bottles than one two liter bottle.

When I first tried the Simple Shower I liked the flow very much but thought I'd prefer a supply bottle with a handle.

It turns out a Coke bottle's threads fit very nicely through the cap of a standard 1-gallon water jug.

1- Cut off the Coke bottle just below the extrusion (in the photo, the blue ring is sitting on the extrusion I'm referring to)

2- Cut out the center of the jug cap.  Trim away the lip on the internal side of the cap so the extrusion fits flat against the inside of the cap.  You might also want to sand the bottom of the extrusion down and perhaps the top of the jug.

3- Push the cut-off Coke bottle threads through the cap and screw the assembly onto the jug.  Check fit.

Note-

This solution is not bombproof.  The thickness of the extrusion prevents the jug cap from using the full extent of its threads.  There may be a better solution for long-term use.

Usage notes on the Simple Shower--

1- My note about the solution not being bombproof means you have to be careful not to screw the modified cap on too tight and deform the outer ring. It works fine if you don't tighten too much.  And, hey, if it leaks, what's it gonna do, give you a shower? (Mine didn't leak, by the way)

2- The flow is great... almost too much, in fact.  I see someone optimized flow to his taste by simply using some electrical tape to close off the outside ring of holes (see photo in post #120 at http://www.expeditio...e-Shower/page12 ).

3. My photo on the left shows it assembled and, yes, it has the 'straw' needed for it to flow.  I don't store it that way, though, since the shower head is open and the jug would spill if tipped over. I remove the shower head and put on the cap from the Coke bottle.

4. One little nit about the Simple Shower is the straw tends to fall off during assembly/disassembly.  I need to be sure I seat the straw the whole way in to avoid this.
