Getting There

The Transfer Recreation Area, which includes a campground and picnic area, is 11 miles northeast of Mancos. Take Colorado Highway 184 north for 1/4 mile and turn east on the W. Mancos Road (Forest Rd. 561). Go about 7 miles (most is unpaved with a gravel surface). Watch for the campground turnoff on the right.
