This is an extremely strenuous hike - much of it being carved right out of the rock cliffs. Steep with many switchbacks! However, the rewards in views and natural splendor make the trip well worth it!

The four mile hike and 2100 ft of elevation gain to Observation Point is well worth effort. Like the West Rim trail, much of this one is blasted out of the cliff walls so there are impressive drops along the way.

Take water, lunch and your camera.
