This is a fantastic beach campground on the redwood coast. However, parking is very limited and many sites do not have level parking so large campers not recommended.

there is fun surf on occasion. A good left off a reef directly in front of the CG. Also a tide sensitive right up the beach to the North (1/2 mile)... :)

I have been in this area a few times and love it. It seems to get more and more expensive to stay in state parks and this one is no exception. At $35 a night it makes me want to look else where.

at the end of the camping area on the right hand side is "Fern Canyon"...worth the drive. I graduated from Humboldt State back in the dark ages and this was one of the treasured spots for a getaway. Great beach to collect sandworms for fishing ;)
