There are classic views of Half Dome from Glacier Point. Rather than driving up with the crowds, consider hiking the Four Mile Trail up from the Valley.

Consider visiting Glacier Point in the winter on cross country skis or snowshoes. It is a 10.5 mile ski with 1000 feet of elevation gain. The road/route is groomed from the parking at Badger Pass out to Glacier Point. Check out the NPS website for info on a bunk at the Glacier Point Ski Hut. Or, take your own winter gear and camp at the Point. Can there be anything better than opening your tent door in the morning to that classic vista of Half Dome covered in snow?
