If you continue up Garnet Cyn you will eventually reach the Lower Saddle, a flat spot and a busy climbers' camp. From here various routes go to the summit of the "Grand."
All routes are rock climbs so have ropes and know how to use them.
Did the Direct Exum from Lower Saddle many moons ago (1986).
Beautiful climb with lot's of history, including fixed pitons.
My favorite part was the 'golden stairway' on the final 4th class section.
Descended Owens-Spaulding. Don't know if ropes are really needed, but we did one short rappel.
Ah, the good old days when I was stronger and the mountains were shorter!
